Cook County is home to one of the darkest skies in the world. Every year, explorers, adventurers, artists and photographers from around the world travel to Cook County to experience the northern lights and night sky. Help us to celebrate our world-class dark sky at the 5th annual Dark Sky Festival!
This event is organized by Visit Cook County and this year, Bluefin Bay will be hosting the Star Party in the Surfside Ballroom. The Star Party will feature a mobile planetarium with the Marshall W. Alworth Planetarium and will include fun activities, presentations, and telescope viewing outside on the deck! The Star Party will take place from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 8 and will be open to anyone, no pre-registration required.
